En vue du retour du Forum Social Mondial (FSM) sur le continent dix ans après Tunis 2015, la Convergence Générale des Luttes pour la Terre et l’Eau en Afrique de l’Ouest (CGLTE OA), membre du Conseil International (CI), a entamé les démarches depuis l’étape de Mexico en 2022 auprès de certaines organisations membres du CI. Ainsi au cours du dernier FSM, à l’issue d’un plaidoyer et d’un lobbying fort, le Conseil International (CI) a retenu la candidature de l’Afrique pour organiser le prochain forum en 2026 à Cotonou au Bénin. Africa will host the next World Social Forum (WSF) in Cotonou, Benin, in 2026 !In anticipation of the return of the WSF to the continent ten years after Tunis 2015, the CGLTE OA, a member of the International Council (IC), began discussions during the Mexico stage in 2022 with certain IC member organizations. As a result, during the last WSF, following strong advocacy and lobbying efforts, the International Council (IC) selected Africa’s candidacy to host the next forum in 2026 in Cotonou, Benin.
